Pesticides have become an indispensable part of world agriculture. Research indicates that pesticides affect the nervous system of human beings at all sites. They are also carcinogenic, mutagenic, hepatotoxic, cardiotoxic and also involve respiratory. Chronic toxicity of organochlorine results in impaired visuomotor function and behavioral changes. Organophosphates and pyrethroids also have shown changes in nervous function. It is therefore necessary to constantly monitor the status of pesticide residues in our food,water and environment.
